Who Can Participate?

We are not an application-based event, so everyone who signs up to be part of the event will be accepted! All we need is for you to bring your love for the Forgers and a commitment to the responsibilities your role will call for.

Contributors 14 and up can participate, however only those who are 18 and up can be in a team with NSFW content and gain access to NSFW channels in the Discord server. The mod team reserves the right to remove from the event anyone who disregards this rule and/or is found out to have lied about their age in order to access and work with NSFW content.

Communications

The main means of communication for the event will be the Familie Discord server, and all participants are required to be a part of it. The server is not limited to participants, however. Cheerleaders of the event are welcome, too!

Roles

Writers

Writers are expected to write a fic centered around the Forger family. They may write for any of the relationships between the four Forgers and their extended families—parents, Yuri, Franky, too! Family has many definitions and connotations, so as long as there is a sense of family between Loid, Yor, Anya, and Bond, all stories are fair game!

NSFW fics, however, may not involve incest, adults x minors, or dead dove themes.

The minimum word count will depend on the results of the Interest Check, so keep your eyes peeled for that! All writers must have the minimum word count ready to be posted to AO3 on their posting date by the end of the creation period. There is no maximum word count, and writers can continue to update their fic after the event has finished, as long as the minimum has been posted on their posting date.

Writers are expected to communicate regularly with their event partner(s) regarding the progress of their work. This includes sharing ideas and drafts with the artist, and contacting their beta reader when they need assistance or revisions done on their draft. We highly recommend that writers and artists work and talk through their pieces together!

During sign-ups, writers are able to provide their preferences with regards to their team. They can state whether they want to be matched with a beta reader for the event, but regardless of their decision, the beta readers of the event will always be available to lend a helping hand if the writers request for them in the #find-a-beta channel of the Discord server—NSFW works must be disclosed as such, as only beta readers 18 and older are allowed to work on them. Writers may also have someone who is not participating in the event beta their fic!

Writers may also choose to come into the event with a partner already chosen, and may also opt out of being assigned an artist or beta.

Writers will also be able to specify what age range they are comfortable with when getting matched with their team. Adults can request to be paired only with fellow adults, and minors can request to be paired only with fellow minors

Depending on how many sign-ups we receive and what kind of roles they are, SFW versus NSFW, and age requests, writers might not be matched with an artist or beta. We

NSFW content, as disclosed above, may not involve incest, adults x minors, or dead dove themes, and can only be created by participants 18 and older. NSFW writers will also only be matched with artists and beta readers that are also 18 and older, and want to work with NSFW content.

Artists

Artists are expected to produce one complete piece for the fic they are matched with. There is no specific medium required for the art piece, however the artists must be able to upload the piece at a high quality. Generally, the main piece should be fully rendered—full color and background for an illustration—however artists are free to discuss the specifics of their art piece with their writer partner and the event mods.

The main piece should either showcase the entire fic (this may be cover art or a piece that represents the story or its themes), or depict a particular scene that the artist would like to use as a reference. Discussing the elements of the piece with the writer is highly recommended!

Artists are not limited to just one piece. They may also create spot illustrations for the fic, which require less detail and are made to depict a specific scene or detail. This is not required, and will be at the writer and artist’s discretion!

During sign-ups, artists are able to provide their preferences with regards to their team. They can state whether they are comfortable making art for more than one fic, should there be more writers than artists, and may also specify what age range they are comfortable with when getting matched with their team. Adults can request to be paired only with fellow adults, and minors can request to be paired only with fellow minors.

Depending on how many sign-ups we receive and what kind of roles they are, SFW versus NSFW, and age requests, two artists may end up making art for the same fic, and an artist, so long as they disclosed that they are comfortable with it, may end up making art for two fics. We will try our best to match everyone 1:1, though!
